Head's Welcome

Mr Barrow, our Head Teacher.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to St. John’s Primary School and Nursery.

I am very proud to have been the Head Teacher since April 2012. During this time, we have been constantly evolving to meet the needs of the children and to be at the heart of the community we serve.

We are a single form entry school with extra classes in Year 2,3, 5 and 6.

We were all delighted with our Ofsted grading of good in February 2014, with outstanding behaviour and safety. This is very well deserved for our school, and confirms that we all believe that we have a very special school indeed. We are now looking forward to making our school even better.

We have a talented and dedicated staff, friendly and welcoming children, and a wonderfully supportive community.

Our school is unique because we have a Children’s Centre on site, run by Barnardo's, which helps us achieve our vision of outstanding outcomes from birth to 11. These links enable us to develop strong and lasting relationships with our families.

I hope that our website gives you all the information that you need, in addition below you will find our five stand-outs. These are the things chosen by the children and staff that best represent us as a school. However, the best way is to come and see for yourselves what our school looks like in action.

Please make an appointment to come and look around; you will be made very welcome.

I look forward to meeting you and working in partnership with you over the coming years.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Darren Barrow
Head Teacher
