Event - St. John's Has Talent

24 October 2014

St. John’s really has got talent!

Friday 24th October was a very memorable day for St. John’s as we celebrated the end of our 'All About Me' learning theme.

Class heats were held and finalists went through to the afternoon finale. The stage was set, Ant and Dec were presenting! Thank you Jack and Eva for doing an admirable job keeping everyone in check.

The crowd welcomed the judges: Simon Cowell (Mr Barrow), Amanda Holden (Mrs Coopey, our Community Governor), Alicia Dixon(Mrs Yardley) and David Walliams (Mr Martin, our Chair of Governors).

Eleven acts, one from each class put forward their favourite act. These included singing, dancing, acrobatics, gymnastics and even the world longest headstand. The judges were impressed by the confidence and presence of all the acts.

After much deliberation, the judges decided that Class 1D should win for Key Stage One with their energetic rendition of One Direction’s 'You don’t know you’re beautiful'. Mrs Stern took it on the chin when Alicia recommended they could lose their main dancer!

Flying the flag for Key Stage 2 were Freya and Luis for their brilliant gymnastic and song rendition of One Republic’s 'Chasing Stars'. They were genuinely surprised to win and everyone was touched by their hug and beaming smile at the end.
